London is a fantastic city with so much to see and do. I've traveled here nearly 10 times and lived in London for several months studying abroad in college.
If possible, come a few days before Wimbledon and spend the time sightseeing. If time is an issue or if you’ve already been to London and done all the typical tourist sightseeing just walking around the city and soaking up the culture is highly recommended. On my previous trips to Wimbledon I flew the Fri night/Sat morning before the tournament started and spent Sat afternoon walking around the Leicester Square and Covent Garden area.
